Personally I don’t like typical “micellar waters” from Western brands in general. They can be mild, but don’t remove waterproof and very resistant physical sunscreens well.

I prefer the Japanese ones, they usually remove “hydrophobic cosmetics” much better (I’ve done a lot of tests). Here is an example:

With regard to the Simple one you refer to, yes that looks very much like a micelle containing formulation. I’d love to know what you think of its performance.
