Interesting post, but, perhaps wrongly,I was left feeling this product may not be very effective. Do y ou have any other shampoo recommendations for psoriasis sufferers?

Particularly interested in something which doesn't smell of tar!

Thank you

I don't know what level the plant extracts are used at in this particular formulation, so let us give this particular one the benefit of the doubt. But the use of tip ins is widespread so most plant extracts you see on packs are present at very low levels indeed.

If I remember rightly, Trotula di Ruggeiro quoted rosemary infusion for dandruff. But even if there is enough rosemary infusion to work the shampoo base would be working against it. You would be better off using the rosemary separately before or after shampooing.

Thanks for reminding me about this article. I had forgotten I had written it. In fact I have a new post coming out on Monday that repeats some of what I wrote back in 2008. I hope not too many people besides you notice.

I don't know about sage but I know from personal experience than a fresh infusion of rosemary does wonders for the hair.

Before dismissing the herbal ingredients as fillers put in to sound good, I wish you'd address the real issue - are they present in sufficient quantity or quality to be active ingredients?
