How Much? – Personal Care Industry Lobby Group Spending Up

Happi reported last week that the Personal Care Products Council spent $170,000 lobbying the federal government in the first quarter, a 21% increase from the same period a year ago.

Is that all? That barely covers the cost of an office and a couple of staff. I know its easy to spend other people’s money, but surely the big cosmetic companies can pony up a bit more. I don’t mind spending a bit of my free time combatting the nonsense spread by spammers and scaremongers but it would be good to think that there was at least some serious cash being devoted to the same cause by an industry that spends billions on adverts.
